About
I help good work get seen.
I'm Chris, the founder of True North Creative. I tell the stories of nonprofits and churches so people understand them and want to help.
Why I Do This
I've sat in your chair.
For more than 20 years I've made video and done marketing for organizations I care about, much of it from the inside: church communications and work with The Salvation Army. I still lead marketing for a church today.
Over and over I've watched the same thing happen. An organization is doing real good, and almost nobody outside the building knows it. The work isn't the problem. The story just isn't being told.
True North Creative is how I help more organizations fix that. I find the real story, film the people behind it, edit it and build the website that explains it. You work with one person from the first conversation to the finished film.
What I Believe
How I work
01
Find the real problem first.
If you don't need a new website or more video, I'll tell you.
02
Views aren't the goal.
What counts is what your mission needs: donors, volunteers and people served.
03
Real people, real footage.
No stock faces and no AI-generated people. Ever.
04
The story has to be true.
Facts and stories work together. I won't stretch either one.

Where I Work
Indiana, and on the road
I'm based in DeMotte, Indiana. I travel to film, and right now I'm in Sioux Falls, South Dakota every couple of months.
Let's find what's getting in the way.
A story call is a free conversation about your organization, who you're trying to reach and what isn't working yet. No pitch deck.
